I am listening to every 1994 show in order, mining for gold.
Set 1 Highlights: Very nice Jack Straw opener, and an even better Ramble on Rose. Phil does a nice Box and replaces "short time to be there" with "here." Everything else well played. Vinny is in top form!
Set 2 HIGHlights: 32-minute Scarlet>Fire is about as good as it gets in '94. Absolutely no filler. Jerry really puts in work here to drive this. Outstanding second set sequence starting with Corrina. Very good Attics and the Lovelight is very fun. Liberty for the election year.
Overall, this is a standout show for the year.

I wasn;t there but based i on the tape, have to agree with wharfrat67 -- Charlie has provided another excellent upload,,,can not thank him and his peers enough for there efforts. Although no matter how good it sounds you can not improve the playin. Scar Fire does seem to meander and lacks the energy in the leads. There were nuggets of excellent playing/singing by Jer in 94 and 95...just fewer and farther between, Love the man and the band,,,

Thanks to Charlie Miller for a fantastic job. The sound is phenomenal... unfortunately that puts Garcia's steep decline on display. Certainly this is a good show for '94, but it is sad for me to hear Garcia struggle as he does here. His vocals are weak and while Scarlet Fire is long... it is really more meandering than anything. Also the band really seems to be carrying Jerry here, as opposed to him leading them as he did so many, many times. You would need heavy doses of something to say this is one of the best Scarlet Fires of all time.

I can see how people at this show would be let down by 2nd set song choices, especially after an energetic and well-played opener of Scarlet/Fire that got everyone charged up. Rest of 2nd set is pretty unexceptional. (Almost prefer 1st set list & playing.) I dunno, its hard for me to get too excited for these post-1991 shows. It's a Dead show..so being there in person, of course, was a trip and a blast.
But this is a audio forum and none of these shows from 1992-95 can reach anywhere near the aural heights of the Dead in their prime years in 1960s,1970s and some shows in the 80s, or even the last great tour in spring 1990. It's not for no reason that the Cornell show in May 1977 is top download on this site and has been for years. Have a listen to that Scarlet/Fire 2nd set opener and you will know.

This show has really great versions of older songs like Ramble On Rose and Fire On The Mountain, and one of the very best Box Of Rains ever. Also nice versions of some of their new songs. Real strong start to finish.

One,if not,the best Scarlet>Fire ever that opened the 2nd set.I agree Corrina and Samba aren`t crowd favorites, and after such a tremendous opener,to gradually go downhill w/those tunes weren`t their brightest idea. However,That version of Scar>Fire is worth 5star`s alone...on any given day!...I kick myself in the butt for not scoring a tix that night...It had to of been better than the NYC street`s that night.Pyschedelics didn`t even make,"walkin`downtown, with nowhere to go but just to hang around,"fun.

Decent show especially the first set. Sedula is right the second set dies. It's like someone let the air out of the tires. I like LLR but prefer it in the first set. I also like Liberty but Corrina and Samba I never could stomach. Another nice remaster by Charlie.

While I love the Dead this is a weak 2nd set. Any 2nd set with Looks Like Rain, Corrina, Samba in the Rain & Liberty should not be getting anything near a five out of five. But the recording is very good.

Took my wife to this show, she had seen the 86 RFK show w/Dylan and Petty before. After Scarlet>Fire she turned to me and stated now she understood why I went to so many shows. She then went out into the hallway to look at the "spinners". After space, she came back and said she was weirded out by the people "Dancing to music I am not hearing" I assured her it was the LSD they were on and not her. Too bad I could not get her to more shows after that one.
